Our Senior Leadership Team
Jennifer is the Founder and Director of Total Tuition. She is a qualified teacher with a specialism in primary education, and has 14 years of experience teaching in independent schools, state schools, and homeschool/tutoring roles. She has a MA in Social Development and Sustainable Livelihoods, and has M.Ed in Educational Leadership.
Jennifer is also a voluntary Founder and Director of a small charity in Kenya providing education to vulnerable children in juvenile prisons, street children, and low-income schools.
Jennifer is the Designated Safeguarding Lead, First Aid for Mental Health instructor and a REACT UK Advanced Instructor. Jennifer delivers courses relating to positive handling, trauma informed teaching, and challenging behaviour.
Janice is a qualified teacher, SENCO, and is Thrive trained with over 20 years experience working in primary education, including in Senior Leadership and Deputy Headship roles.
She has an M.Ed in Educational Leadership and holds NPQH. She delivers training to aspiring senior leaders under the North East Teaching Schools Partnership Programme at Newcastle University, delivers our Safeguarding Training, and is a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Janice worked within the Virtual School in Northumberland Council as Inclusion Manager, providing advice, guidance, and support to schools and parents for those facing permanent exclusion or risk of exclusion.
Jackie is our Functional Skills specialist, and a qualified HLTA working towards QTLS.
She teaches and monitors the delivery of our Functional Skills and ASDAN courses and has worked in a special educational needs setting delivering these exams and other life skills to children for over 15 years.
Jackie is trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Fire Warden, and has completed additional training in SEN, BSL, and challenging behaviours.

Staff emotional wellbeing is a priority, we work hard to ensure they are as protected as possible against secondary trauma and we promote a mentally healthy workplace and are working towards the Better Health at Work Award.
Tutor and Assistant to SENCO (Secondary)
Sam is a Functional Skills and KS3 tutor working towards QTLS. Sam’s specialismis working with children with social and emotional needs, and she delivers bespoke sessions with a patient, pastoral approach. Sam has developed trusting and respectful relationships with her students.
Tutor/ Maths and English Lead (Primary)
Chelsea Hook is a qualified teacher with experience working with children with SEN, hearing and visual impairments, and behavioural difficulties. Chelsea has experience working in residential camps in the UK, as well as working with disadvantaged young people in the USA. Chelsea is an enthusiastic and capable practitioner and is an asset to our primary team.
Maths Tutor (Secondary)
Ben is qualified to Masters level in maths, and is able to deliver quality teaching to our students up to A Level standard if required. Ben is an approachable and capable tutor who has developed great relationships with our secondary students.
Tutor/ PE and Music Lead (Primary)
Kirsten is an experienced qualified teacher and senior leader. Kirsten has an enthusiasm for teaching PE and music.
Tutor/ Creative Lead (Primary)
Amie is a qualified TA with experience working with children with SEN and social and emotional needs. Amie has an enthusiastic and friendly demeanour, and is a fantastic addition to our tutor team.
Tutor/ Humanities and MFL Lead (Primary)
Laura is a qualified teacher with experience working with a vast demographic of students with various additional needs. Laura has a calm and capable persona, and has proven success in supporting our students with challenging behaviours.
Forest School Lead (Primary)
Just before completing her teaching degree, Rose moved to Australia to work as a Governess in the Outback. Rosie worked on farming stations in Australia for 3 years, educating and caring for children as a tutor at the School of the Air, including teaching children with SEN and challenging behaviours. Rosie is a qualified Educator with additional experience as a Room Leader.
Abbie has many years of experience working as a children’s support worker and residential support officer across a variety of settings. Abbie has worked with children who display serious challenging behaviours, and who have additional social and emotional and special educational needs.
Ryan is a qualified primary teacher with a range of experience across year groups, working with children with varying abilities and special educational and social and emotional needs.
Tutor (Primary and Secondary)
Karen is qualified teacher with vast experience working with children who have SEMH and behavioural difficulties. Karen’s specialism is in outdoor learning.
GCSE English Specialist (Secondary)
Sariah is a qualified English teacher with a passion for supporting disengaged children. Sariah has a Master’s degree with Distinction, and is keen to share her enthusiasm for English with her students.

Cheryl is a qualified teacher with experience working with children with additional needs.
Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Debbie is an experienced SEMH and behavioural teaching assistant, who has worked as part of large SEN teams and delivered a variety of structured interventions. Debbie assesses, creates, and delivers targeted and bespoke interventions across our school. Debbie has completed and passed The National Programme for Specialist Leaders in Behaviour and Attendance. Debbie is an Ambassador for CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection).
Personal Assistant to Headteacher
Cathy is an experienced Learning Support Assistant and Attendance Officer at a special educational needs school for children with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.
Personal Assistant to Proprietor
Julie is a well organised and extremely professional personal assistant with vast experience in the health and social care systems.
